Why I started Dragonfly Rising
In my 25+ year technology career, only once have I had the rare experience and unique opportunity to be part of a magical team. The trust, commitment, camaraderie, and results we achieved together at Webtrends in 2009 left us all in a state of “WOW – how do we do that again?” Many of us on that team have since been searching for that awesome repeat experience. Yet not knowing how to create it or being empowered to do so. After leaving Big Tech in January 2023, I spent several months reflecting on the team experiences I’ve had over my career and their impact and processes.
With deep contemplation and reflection, I realized that people bond around a focused strategic mission. This team X factor coupled with my passion for the AI and data space, I founded Dragonfly Rising. I seek to help organizations maximize the business impact of their AI and data investments by creating high-performing, cohesive teams - the magical kind everyone deserves to be a part of and by applying a focused, outcome-driven approach to your AI and Data Strategy.

Why a Dragonfly?
The dragonfly is the preeminent species of radical transformation by rapidly changing from an underwater gill-breathing brown nymph to a soaring aerial acrobat shimmering in bright iridescence as it dances across the sky.
A dragonfly nymph will develop in the water for months to several years, molting up to 17 times. Just days before their final molt, they move to the water’s edge and start to breathe air for the first time versus through their gills. They climb onto a piece of vegetation and, from their larval state, push their thorax, head, legs, and wings out and wait for their legs and wings to dry. After only three hours of this emergence process, the dragonfly takes flight!
This spirit of metamorphosis and the ability to quickly evolve defines Dragonfly Rising; it is a compelling metaphor for the potential of your business transformation.
